20AX DP Key Switch Grid Module - White (Curved Edge)

The Knightsbridge 20AX DP key switch module is a single-width grid module in white thermoset resin, designed exclusively for installation within Knightsbridge's Curved Edge grid switch systems. The module measures 25mm wide by 55mm high and operates at 20AX on 230V 50Hz mains, providing double pole switching that isolates both live and neutral lines when the key is turned off.

This key switch is used where electrical circuits need to be secured against unauthorised operation — common applications include shopfitting where display lighting needs to be locked off after hours, educational settings where AV equipment must remain disabled unless supervised, and residential installations controlling high-value equipment such as spa pumps or workshop machinery. The module ships with one secret key that must be inserted and turned to activate the circuit.

The module clips into a Curved Edge grid frame, which is then mounted to a standard electrical back box with a minimum 35mm depth. The grid frame accepts up to six single-width modules or combinations of single, double and triple-width modules, allowing multiple switches, sockets and control modules to be installed behind one faceplate. The white thermoset resin construction resists heat, impact and UV degradation better than polycarbonate, and the module carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011 for healthcare and hospitality environments.

Knightsbridge's Curved Edge range uses a soft-radius edge profile that differs from standard grid systems — modules, frames and faceplates from the Curved Edge range are not compatible with Knightsbridge's standard flat-edge Grid Plus system or other manufacturers' grids. What grid system does this module fit?

This module is designed exclusively for Knightsbridge's Curved Edge grid system. It will not fit standard flat-edge grid frames or other manufacturers' grid systems. The Curved Edge range uses a soft-radius edge profile that requires matching frames and faceplates.

How many modules fit in one grid frame?

Curved Edge grid frames are available in 1-gang through 6-gang sizes. This module occupies one single width, so a 6-gang frame can hold six of these key switch modules, or a combination of single, double and triple-width modules adding up to six total widths.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed. The module itself has a 25mm depth with a 20mm recessed portion that sits inside the back box, leaving the front-mounted grid frame sitting approximately 5mm proud of the wall surface.

What does the key control?

The key switch provides double pole switching, isolating both live and neutral lines. When the key is removed, the circuit cannot be operated. Typical applications include controlling lighting circuits, workshop equipment, AV systems, or any load where access needs to be restricted to key holders only.
