20AX DP Grid Switch Module - Brushed Brass

This Knightsbridge 20AX double pole grid module is a single switch unit designed to clip into modular grid mounting frames (sold separately) for custom switch plate configurations. The module measures 24.8mm wide — equivalent to one grid position in Knightsbridge's modular system — and carries a 20AX rating suitable for high-draw circuits including cooker isolators, water heaters and immersion heaters up to 4,600W on 230V mains.

The double pole switching isolates both live and neutral conductors when turned off, providing a higher safety standard than single-pole switching for circuits where complete isolation is needed. The module clips into position from the front of the grid frame without requiring tools, allowing the switch to be installed or removed for maintenance without disturbing adjacent modules in a multi-position grid plate.

The brushed brass rocker sits in a white ABS module body with steel internal components. The brushed finish provides a low-sheen warm metallic appearance that pairs with brass electrical accessories in traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The module requires a minimum 35mm back box depth and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use.

What is the Knightsbridge Grid system?

The Knightsbridge Grid system allows you to build custom switch and socket plates by clipping individual modules into a separate mounting frame. Each module occupies one or two grid positions depending on its width. This module occupies one position and can be combined with other switches, sockets, dimmers or blanks to create a multi-function plate tailored to your wiring layout.

What mounting frame is required?

You need a Knightsbridge Grid mounting frame in a finish and size that matches your required number of modules. Frames are sold separately and available in 1-6 grid positions. The module clips into the frame from the front, and the assembled plate then fixes to a standard back box.

What loads can a 20AX module handle?

The 20AX rating allows the module to handle loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains. This makes it suitable for high-draw appliances including cooker isolators, water heaters, immersion heaters and commercial equipment. For standard lighting circuits a 10AX or 16AX module is sufficient.
