20AX 2 Way SP Toggle Switch Module - White

The Knightsbridge 20AX 2-way single pole toggle switch module is a white thermoset resin module designed to clip into the Curved Edge Grid mounting frame system (frames sold separately). The 20AX rating supports loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, making it suitable for higher-draw circuits including lighting banks, workshop equipment and commercial kitchen appliances.

Designed for both residential and commercial installations, the module fits into modular grid frames that allow multiple switches, sockets and other modules to be combined on a single faceplate. The 2-way single pole configuration enables control of a circuit from two locations, such as controlling a landing light from both upstairs and downstairs positions. The toggle action provides tactile feedback and a visible on/off position.

The module measures 55mm high by 25mm wide with a 15mm projection when fitted, and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth. The white finish provides a clean neutral appearance that pairs with white, cream and light-toned interiors. The thermoset resin construction carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011 and is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations.

What is the Curved Edge Grid system?

The Curved Edge Grid system is Knightsbridge's modular range that allows multiple switch and socket modules to be combined on a single faceplate using a mounting frame. Modules clip into the frame from the front without tools, making installation and reconfiguration straightforward. Frames are sold separately and are available in various gang configurations and finishes.

What is the difference between 2-way and 1-way switching?

A 2-way switch allows control of a circuit from two different locations, such as controlling a landing light from both upstairs and downstairs. A 1-way switch controls a circuit from a single location only. This module is configured as 2-way single pole.

What load can a 20AX switch handle?

20AX rating supports loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains. This is higher than standard 10AX switches (2,300W) and makes it suitable for circuits controlling multiple lights, high-wattage appliances or workshop equipment.

Can this module be used in bathrooms?

The module is rated IP20, which is suitable for indoor dry locations only. It is not suitable for use in bathroom zones where higher IP ratings are required. For bathroom installation outside the zones, consult Part P Building Regulations and a qualified electrician.
