Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX 2-way SP switch module is a single-gang grid insert designed for the Curved Edge Grid System, providing 20AX-rated circuit control in a front-mounted white thermoset resin module. The 2-way single pole configuration allows the module to act as an intermediate switch in multi-location lighting circuits, or as a standard on/off switch where 2-way operation is not required.

Designed for modular grid installations in residential, commercial and hospitality settings, the module clips into Knightsbridge grid frames which accept 1, 2, 3 or 4 modules per plate. This allows a single wall plate to house combinations of switches, sockets, data outlets and other grid modules in configurations tailored to the room. The front-mounted design means the module clicks into place from the front of the frame after wiring is complete, without needing to remove the entire plate assembly.

The white thermoset resin construction is rated IP20 and carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, making the module suitable for healthcare, food service and other environments where surface hygiene matters. The rocker cover can be replaced with a designated alternative (sold separately) to identify specific circuits. The 25mm width occupies one grid space in the Knightsbridge Curved Grid range, and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth for safe installation.

What is a 2-way single pole switch used for?

A 2-way SP switch can control a lighting circuit from two different locations when paired with another 2-way switch, or function as a standard on/off switch when wired as a single control point. The single pole configuration breaks only the live conductor, suitable for standard lighting loads up to 20AX.

Is this compatible with other grid systems?

No. This module is designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge Curved Edge Grid System and will not fit standard grid plates or other manufacturers' modular systems. The curved profile matches the Knightsbridge Curved Grid frames only.

Can the rocker cover be customised?

Yes. The plain white rocker can be replaced with a designated rocker cover (sold separately) to identify the circuit or function, such as 'Lights', 'Fan' or custom text. The rocker clips off and the replacement clips on without re-wiring the module.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is required for safe installation of the module and grid frame assembly. Shallower boxes will not provide sufficient clearance for the terminals and wiring.
