Description
The Knightsbridge 20AX 2-way SP key module is a grid switch marked 'EMG LTG TEST' for emergency lighting test circuits. The module clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames (sold separately) from the front, allowing it to be combined with other grid modules to build custom switch plates. A removable key controls the switch action, restricting operation to authorised personnel only.
Designed for commercial buildings, schools, hotels and offices where emergency lighting systems require manual testing, the module provides a dedicated control point for test circuits. The 20AX rating handles high-current emergency lighting loads up to 4,600W on 230V circuits. The 2-way switching configuration allows the module to control a circuit from one location within a multi-module grid plate, or to be paired with a second switch elsewhere for two-way control of the same circuit.
The black nickel finish provides a darker metallic alternative to polished or brushed chrome, pairing well with darker interiors and contemporary electrical accessories. The module measures 24.8mm wide, occupying one grid space in Knightsbridge's modular system. The ABS body and steel contact mechanism are rated IP20 for indoor dry-location use. The key is supplied with the module and can be removed after switching to prevent unauthorised changes to the emergency lighting test state.

Frequently Asked
What mounting frame does this module require?
The module clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames, which are sold separately. The 24.8mm width occupies one grid space. Frames are available in various configurations from 1-gang to 4-gang, in finishes matching the black nickel module.
What is the 20AX rating used for?
20AX indicates a 20 ampere rating suitable for high-current circuits. On a 230V supply this handles loads up to 4,600W, making it appropriate for emergency lighting circuits that may control multiple fittings simultaneously during testing.
Can the key be removed after switching?
Yes. The key can be removed in either the on or off position, allowing authorised personnel to switch the emergency lighting test circuit and then remove the key to prevent unauthorised changes. One key is supplied with the module.
What does 2-way switching mean in this context?
The 2-way configuration allows the module to control a circuit from one location, or to be wired with a second 2-way switch elsewhere for control of the same circuit from two different positions. For most emergency lighting test applications, the module is used as a simple on/off control at a single location.
