Description
The Knightsbridge 20AX 2-way single-pole grid module provides dual circuit control with a centre-off switch position, finished in black nickel. The module clips into the front of Knightsbridge Grid mounting frames (sold separately), allowing it to be combined with other modules to build custom switch and socket configurations in a single wall plate.
Designed for residential and commercial installations where dual circuit control is needed from a single switch position, the centre-off function allows independent control of two separate lighting or appliance circuits. In the centre position, both circuits are off. Switching up or down activates one circuit or the other, making it particularly useful for controlling multiple lighting zones from one switch location.
The 20AX rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V circuits, suitable for controlling higher-draw circuits including multiple downlights, large appliance groups, or commercial lighting banks. The module is constructed from ABS with steel internals and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth. The black nickel finish provides a dark metallic tone that sits between polished chrome and matt black, pairing well with industrial and contemporary interiors.

Frequently Asked
What does the centre-off position do?
The centre-off switch allows control of two separate circuits from one module. In the centre position, both circuits are off. Switching up activates one circuit, switching down activates the other. This is useful for controlling two lighting zones or appliance groups from a single switch location.
What mounting frame is required?
This module clips into Knightsbridge Grid mounting frames, sold separately. The frames are available in 1-module, 2-module, 3-module and larger configurations, and in various finishes to match the module. The frame fixes to a standard UK back box and the modules clip in from the front.
What is the difference between 10AX and 20AX?
20AX modules are rated for double the current of 10AX modules. At 230V, a 20AX module can handle up to 4,600W, making it suitable for controlling higher-draw circuits such as multiple downlights, large appliance groups, or commercial lighting banks. 10AX modules are rated for up to 2,300W.
Can this be used with LED lighting?
Yes. The 20AX rating is suitable for LED circuits. However, because this is a single-pole module rather than double-pole, it does not isolate both live and neutral, so it may not be suitable for all dimmable LED installations depending on the specific driver requirements. Contact us if you need confirmation for a specific LED setup.
