Description
The Knightsbridge 20AX 2-way single pole grid module is a modular switch component that clips into standard grid mounting frames from the front, requiring no screws or fixing from behind once the frame is installed. The black nickel finish provides a dark metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary and industrial interiors, and the 20AX rating handles lighting circuits and switched outlets up to 4,600W on 230V mains.
Designed for use within the Knightsbridge Grid system, this module allows custom switch plate configurations where multiple switches, dimmers, sockets or data modules are combined in a single faceplate. The 2-way single pole switching makes it suitable for controlling a light from two locations (paired with a second 2-way switch at the other end of the circuit), or as a simple on/off switch where 2-way wiring has been installed for future flexibility.
The module body is moulded from ABS plastic with steel contact terminals, and measures 24.8mm wide by 56.3mm high, occupying one grid space in a standard mounting frame. The recessed depth of 18.7mm plus the 7mm front projection means the module requires a minimum 35mm back box depth when installed. The front-clip design allows modules to be swapped or reconfigured without removing the mounting frame from the wall, which is useful during refits or when changing room layouts.

Frequently Asked
What mounting frame does this module require?
This module clips into Knightsbridge Grid mounting frames, which are sold separately. The frames are available in 1-module, 2-module, 3-module and larger configurations to suit the number of modules being installed. The module occupies one grid space within the frame.
What does 2-way single pole mean?
2-way switching allows a light to be controlled from two locations (such as both ends of a hallway or staircase), using a 2-way module at each position. Single pole means the switch controls only the live wire, rather than both live and neutral as in a double pole configuration.
Can this module be used outdoors or in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating means this module is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for outdoor use or for installation in bathroom zones where moisture protection is required.
What other finishes are available in the Grid range?
Knightsbridge produces grid modules in a wide range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other grid module variants in stock at Niori.
