Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX 1-gang 2-way SP grid toggle switch is a modular component designed to clip into compatible grid mounting frames (sold separately). The switch features a single-pole 2-way configuration rated at 20AX on 230V, suitable for controlling lighting circuits from two different locations within residential, office and commercial installations.

The black nickel finish provides a high-gloss dark metallic surface that contrasts against both light-toned and dark interior schemes. The toggle mechanism operates with a defined tactile action, and the switch occupies a single grid module position, allowing it to be combined with other grid switches, sockets or USB modules on a shared frame. The 35mm minimum back box depth requirement fits most standard grid system installations.

Constructed from premium-grade steel with ABS components, the module measures 56.3mm high by 24.8mm wide with a 20.5mm projection from the grid frame once installed. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations. The switch carries Knightsbridge's 25-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Grid toggle switches are modular components that clip into separate mounting frames, allowing multiple switches, sockets and USB modules to be combined on a single faceplate. Standard switches come as complete units with their own faceplates. Grid systems provide flexibility to configure custom switch plates with different combinations of functions.

What does 2-way SP mean?

2-way single-pole means the switch can control a lighting circuit from two different locations when paired with another 2-way switch. Single-pole indicates it switches the live conductor only. This is the standard configuration for hall and landing lighting where you need control from both ends of a corridor or staircase.

What is the 20AX rating?

20AX indicates the switch can handle up to 20 amps on 230V AC circuits. This is higher than standard 10AX switches and suitable for circuits with multiple lights or higher loads, making it appropriate for commercial installations or homes with extensive lighting circuits.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations outside bathroom zones. It cannot be installed within the regulated zones around baths and showers where higher IP ratings are required.
