Description

The Knightsbridge 20A flex outlet plate provides a single cable exit point through a white rounded-edge faceplate rated for 20A continuous load. The 14mm contoured plate has a recessed central aperture that allows cables to exit cleanly from the centre or base of the opening, giving installers flexibility to route flex downward, horizontally or at an angle depending on the appliance position.

Designed for hard-wired appliances in kitchens, utility rooms, commercial kitchens and healthcare settings, the plate suits installations where an appliance flex needs to connect behind a worktop, inside a cupboard or at skirting level. The anti-microbial coating tested to ISO 22196:2011 inhibits bacterial growth on the plate surface, making it a practical choice for environments where hygiene standards are maintained through regular cleaning.

The thermoset resin construction gives the plate a durable, non-yellowing finish that resists impact and heat better than standard thermoplastic. The rounded edges reduce the visual and physical sharpness of the plate against the wall, and screw cap covers are included to hide fixing screws once installation is complete. The 20A rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, covering most domestic and light commercial appliances including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and small cooking equipment.

Frequently Asked

What appliances is this rated for?

The 20A rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains. This covers most domestic white goods including washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers and small cooking appliances that require a dedicated hard-wired connection.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The plate itself projects 7mm from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of 32mm from the wall surface to the back of the box.

How does the anti-microbial coating work?

The plate surface is treated with an anti-microbial agent tested to ISO 22196:2011, which inhibits bacterial growth on contact. This does not replace regular cleaning but reduces bacterial colonisation between cleaning cycles in hygiene-sensitive environments.

Can cables exit at different angles?

Yes. The recessed central aperture allows flex to exit from the centre or base of the opening, so cables can be routed downward, horizontally or at an angle depending on where the appliance sits relative to the outlet.
