Description

The Knightsbridge 20A flex outlet plate provides a fixed connection point for hardwired appliances behind an antique brass square edge faceplate. The 20A rating handles loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, covering most domestic fixed appliances including electric boilers, wall-mounted heaters, towel rails and water heaters. The central aperture accepts cables up to 10mm in diameter and includes a strain relief mechanism to prevent the cable being pulled from the terminals during installation or maintenance.

Designed for fixed appliance installations where the appliance cable exits the wall rather than plugging into a socket, the flex outlet is typically fitted 100-200mm behind the appliance itself to allow the cable to loop neatly from the outlet to the appliance connection point. The screw-fixed faceplate sits on a standard 25mm minimum back box and uses visible brass screws to secure the plate to the mounting box, matching the square edge plate aesthetic.

The antique brass finish is applied to a 430 stainless steel construction through a PVD coating process, giving a warm patinated brass tone with darker accents that resemble aged brass hardware. The finish pairs well with traditional, classical and industrial interiors where aged metal detailing is a feature. The square edge plate sits flat against the wall with minimal projection, giving a cleaner look than bevelled or rounded edge alternatives.

Terminal capacity is rated at three conductors of 2.5mm² or two conductors of 4.0mm², covering standard UK fixed appliance wiring configurations. Twin earth terminals provide secure grounding for Class I appliances. The IP20 rating restricts the outlet to dry indoor locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use or areas exposed to water spray.
