Description
The Knightsbridge 20A flex outlet plate provides a dedicated connection point for fixed appliances such as refrigerators, water heaters, towel rails and central heating boilers. The anthracite screwless faceplate hides all fixings behind a clip-on cover that sits over a separate metal sub-frame, giving a flat, uninterrupted surface once installed.
Designed for appliances drawing up to 20A at 230V (equivalent to 4,600W), the outlet accepts flexible cables up to 10mm in diameter through a central aperture with integrated cable strain relief. The twin earth terminals support three conductors of 2.5mm² or two of 4.0mm², allowing the plate to serve as a junction point where earthing continuity across multiple circuits is needed. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations including kitchens, utility rooms, airing cupboards and plant rooms.
The anthracite finish is a dark grey-black metallic tone that pairs with both black and stainless steel appliances, and with contemporary matt black, brushed nickel and chrome accessories. The premium-grade steel construction carries a 25-year warranty, reflecting Knightsbridge's positioning as a commercial-grade product suitable for high-frequency switching and permanent fixed loads.

Frequently Asked
What appliances is this outlet suitable for?
The 20A rating supports fixed appliances drawing up to 4,600W, including refrigerators, fridge-freezers, water heaters, electric towel rails, and central heating boilers. It is not suitable for standard plug-in appliances — it terminates a hard-wired flex connection only.
What cable diameter does it accept?
The outlet accepts flexible cables up to 10mm in diameter. The cable strain relief inside the plate grips the cable sheath to prevent movement and reduce wear on the internal terminals.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The anthracite cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the outlet and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What back box depth is required?
A standard 25mm back box is required for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 10mm of projection from the wall surface once fitted.
