Description

The Knightsbridge 20A DP switch is a single-gang double pole switch with a white thermoset faceplate, rounded edges and a 7mm profile. The double pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, making it suitable for controlling fixed appliances, immersion heaters, cooker hoods and other circuits requiring isolation beyond standard lighting loads. The 20AX rating handles resistive loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains.

Designed for residential and commercial installation, the switch fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and includes screw cap covers that conceal the fixing screws for a cleaner wall finish. The white thermoset construction provides better heat resistance and durability under load than standard plastics, and the plate carries an anti-microbial coating tested to ISO 22196:2011, reducing bacterial growth on the surface in kitchens, bathrooms and healthcare settings.

The rounded edge profile gives the switch a softer appearance than sharp-edged alternatives, sitting flush to the wall without protruding edges that catch on sleeves or cleaning cloths. The plate measures 86mm square with a gentle 7mm curve from wall to face, and the white finish pairs neutrally with most wall colours. Double pole switching isolates both the live and neutral conductors when the switch is turned off, providing complete circuit isolation. What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for installation. The 7mm plate projection is measured from the wall surface once the box is flush-mounted.

What does the anti-microbial coating do?
