Description

The Knightsbridge 20A 1-gang double-pole switch is designed for controlling fixed appliances rated up to 4,600W on 230V mains supply, including water heaters, cooker hoods, and immersion heaters. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing safer isolation for high-draw appliances than single-pole switching.

The polished chrome screwless faceplate uses a cover plate that clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall. The 87.5mm square plate sits flush with minimal projection (4.3mm beyond the wall surface), making it suitable for areas where protruding switches would catch clothing or create hazards. The matching chrome rocker sits within the polished chrome frame for a unified metallic finish.

The switch requires a minimum 25mm back box depth for installation and is certified to EN 60669-1. The premium-grade steel construction carries an IP20 rating for indoor use only and includes an earth terminal. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame provides a secure seal against dust ingress and improves the fit against uneven wall surfaces.
