Two connections on a single plate: a telephone point alongside a Cat 5 data socket, both sitting behind a screwless warm grey front. Nothing shows on the face but the apertures themselves, as the plate clips over its own frame, so there are no screw heads to line up or paint around. The finish is a soft warm grey rather than a cold white, which settles more quietly against magnolia, stone and putty walls. At 88mm square it keeps a small, tidy footprint at desk height.

This is the plate we reach for behind a desk in a study or home office, where a landline handset and a wired connection are both wanted in the same spot and the router sits at the other end of the house. A wired run holds steady in a way that wireless can struggle to in older properties with thick internal walls, so it earns its place in a back bedroom turned workroom, a converted loft, or a hallway where the telephone lives on a side table. It works on low voltage data circuits and is meant for indoor rooms.

The plate is moulded from ABS, a tough plastic that keeps its colour and does not scuff easily, with the terminals recessed well behind the face.
