Two connections on one small plate: a telephone point and a Cat 5 Ethernet data socket, sitting side by side behind a copper front with no screw heads on show. The face is flat and plain, with both apertures clearly marked, so it reads as working hardware rather than something to look at. There is nothing decorative about it, and that is rather the point. It is the one we point people towards when a room needs a phone line and a wired network connection in the same place.

Studies and home offices are the obvious home for it, particularly where a router or a printer wants a fixed cable rather than wireless.
