The Knightsbridge 2-gang blanking plate provides a screwless polished chrome cover for unused or redundant double electrical back boxes. The plate measures 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm high and projects just 4.3mm from the wall once fitted, giving a low-profile finish that sits flush with standard switch and socket heights.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installations where back boxes have been left empty during refurbishment or rewiring, the blanking plate conceals the aperture while maintaining a consistent finish across a wall plate run. The screwless cover clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings behind the polished chrome faceplate. An integrated gasket behind the plate prevents dust and debris entering the back box.

The polished chrome finish provides a bright, mirror-like surface that pairs with other polished chrome switches and sockets in the same range. The premium-grade steel construction carries a Class I earth terminal and IP20 rating for dry indoor locations. The 2-gang blanking plate fits standard UK double back boxes with 147mm centre spacing. It's compatible with both 25mm and 35mm depth back boxes, as the blanking plate only covers the aperture without requiring internal space.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The polished chrome cover clips onto a separate steel sub-frame that's fixed to the back box with screws. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the plate and re-clipped without needing tools or re-wiring.

Does it need to be earthed?

The plate carries a Class I earth terminal. While a blanking plate doesn't carry current, earthing the metal sub-frame to the back box earth terminal is recommended to maintain continuity across the installation and meet IEC 60670-1 standards.
