Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang blanking plate covers unused or redundant twin electrical back boxes behind a black nickel screwless faceplate. The plate measures 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm high and projects just 4.3mm from the wall once fitted, giving a low-profile finish that sits nearly flush with the plaster line.

Designed for residential and commercial installation where back boxes have been left in place after circuit changes or room reconfigurations, the blanking plate conceals the void without needing to remove wiring or patch plasterwork. The screwless cover clips onto a separate sub-frame fixed to the back box, so there are no visible fixings on the faceplate once installed. A built-in gasket seals the plate to the wall, preventing dust ingress around the edges.

The black nickel finish is a dark gunmetal tone that sits between polished chrome and matt black, giving a contemporary metallic accent that pairs well with industrial, modern and monochrome interiors. The premium-grade steel construction carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use and includes an earth terminal for Class I earthing protection. The plate is certified to IEC 60670-1 and carries a 25-year warranty.

What back boxes does this fit?

The 2-gang blanking plate fits standard UK twin 25mm back boxes. The screwless cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that fixes to the back box lugs using the existing screw holes.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate unclips from the sub-frame without tools, allowing you to paint around the back box and re-clip the plate once the paint has dried. The sub-frame remains fixed to the back box.

Can this be used in bathrooms or kitchens?

The IP20 rating makes this suitable for indoor dry locations only. It should not be used within bathroom zones or anywhere subject to splashing, moisture or condensation. For wet-location blanking plates, look for IP44 or IP65 rated alternatives.
