Description

The Knightsbridge SFR298AB is a 4-gang multimedia combination plate housing two 13A double-pole switched sockets and eight modular apertures for Euro inserts (25x50mm), behind an antique brass screwless faceplate. The dual-pole switching on both socket pairs isolates live and neutral when switched off, and each socket carries twin earth terminals for redundant earthing on high-load appliances.

Designed for AV installations, home office workstations and smart home control walls where power and data converge, the plate allows HDMI, CAT6 Ethernet, satellite/aerial coax, USB charging modules, speaker terminals or telephone inserts to be mounted alongside mains power in a single coordinated faceplate. The eight module spaces are empty on delivery — Euro modules are specified separately according to installation requirements. Common configurations pair two USB charger modules with Ethernet and HDMI for media console setups, or mix telephone and network modules for home office desks.

The 297.5mm width spans two standard UK double-gang back boxes positioned side by side, and requires a minimum mounting box depth of 47mm to accommodate both the socket mechanisms and the modular inserts without compromising cable bend radius. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings once installed and leaving a clean antique brass surface with a built-in gasket that seals against the wall. The antique brass finish is a warm, low-sheen tone over 201 stainless steel construction, pairing well with traditional, period and warm contemporary interiors.

A minimum 47mm mounting box depth is required. The plate spans two standard UK double-gang back boxes positioned side by side, so the total installation uses two 47mm-deep boxes.

Are the Euro modules included?

No. The plate provides eight 25x50mm apertures for Euro modules but the modules themselves are sold separately. Choose HDMI, USB charger, Ethernet, satellite, speaker or telephone modules according to your installation needs.

What's the maximum load per socket?

Each 13A socket can handle up to 3,120W (13A at 230V). The plate carries two double sockets, so four outlets in total, each individually rated to 13A.

Is the screwless plate removable?

Yes. The antique brass cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back boxes. The cover can be removed for redecorating and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
