Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind a matt white screwless faceplate with a white insert. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, suitable for standard residential loads where double-pole isolation is not required.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.

The matt white finish provides a neutral backdrop that blends with both traditional white interiors and modern minimalist schemes. The white insert behind the faceplate creates a continuous white surface across the socket, with matching white rockers for the switches. The USB-C port supports modern fast-charge protocols, while the USB-A retains compatibility with older cables and devices. The dual USB output provides 5V DC at 4.0A shared across both ports.

A 25-35mm back box depth is needed for safe installation, with the exact depth dependent on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What's the USB charging output?

The dual USB ports provide 5V DC at 4.0A shared output across both the USB-A and USB-C ports. The USB-C port supports modern fast-charge protocols for compatible devices.

What's the difference between SP and DP switching?

SP (single-pole) switching isolates only the live line when switched off. DP (double-pole) switching isolates both live and neutral lines, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances. For most residential applications, SP switching is sufficient.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
