Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind a matt black screwless faceplate with a black insert. The single-pole switching cuts the live line when the socket is turned off, making it suitable for standard domestic loads up to 13A per outlet. The dual USB ports share a 5V DC 4.0A output, providing fast-charge capability for modern devices via the USB-C port while retaining compatibility with older USB-A cables.
Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on cable routing. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, eliminating visible fixings on the wall once fitted and creating a flat, minimalist profile with just 4.3mm projection from the wall surface. The matt black finish on premium-grade steel provides a hardwearing, non-reflective surface that resists fingerprints and pairs well with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors.
The black insert behind the faceplate creates a defined edge around each outlet aperture and hides the back of the cover plate, maintaining the clean monochrome aesthetic when viewed from any angle. The built-in gasket between the sub-frame and cover plate helps prevent dust ingress and creates a smooth transition to the wall. The matching black rockers complete the monolithic appearance, giving the socket a unified look rather than contrasting switch elements.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed, though 35mm may be required depending on cable routing and the number of cables entering the box. The screwless cover plate adds just 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.
What's the USB charging output?
The dual USB ports share a 5V DC 4.0A output. The USB-C port supports fast-charge protocols for modern smartphones and tablets, while the USB-A port maintains compatibility with older devices and cables.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The matt black cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What's the difference between SP and DP switching?
SP (single-pole) switching cuts the live line only when the socket is turned off. DP (double-pole) switching cuts both live and neutral. SP switching is suitable for most domestic applications; DP is preferred for higher-draw appliances or commercial settings requiring additional isolation.
