Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket adds twin earth terminals behind a brushed chrome faceplate with a grey insert and rounded edge profile. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The twin earth terminals meet high-integrity earthing requirements in installations where a second earth connection is specified.

Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a rounded edge plate with an integrated gasket that sits flush against the wall. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet. The double pole switches provide positive isolation for appliances left plugged in but not in use, reducing standby power draw and improving safety during maintenance.

The brushed chrome finish provides a cool metallic accent with a linear grain that resists fingerprints and sits comfortably in contemporary, industrial and commercial interiors. The grey insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and defines the edge of each outlet aperture. The premium-grade steel construction and 25-year warranty reflect Knightsbridge's manufacturing standards for electrical accessories installed in high-use environments.

Frequently Asked

What are twin earth terminals used for?

Twin earth terminals provide a second earth connection point for installations requiring high-integrity earthing, such as circuits with metal conduit, trunking, or where a supplementary earth is specified by the installation designer. Standard single-earth sockets are adequate for most domestic applications.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The rounded edge plate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does the rounded edge design mean?

The rounded edge profile gives the faceplate a softer, contoured appearance compared to square-edge plates. The integrated gasket sits flush against the wall, creating a clean transition between the plate and the wall surface without a visible gap.

What other finishes are available in this range?

Knightsbridge produces this rounded edge style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
