Description
This Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang unswitched socket module provides a single UK 3-pin outlet in a 50 x 50mm euro-module format with a white ABS insert. The module clips into a compatible euro-module faceplate (sold separately) to form part of a custom grid installation, allowing multiple sockets, switches and data modules to be combined behind a single wall plate.
Designed for modular electrical systems in residential, commercial and hospitality settings, the module suits applications where grid flexibility is needed across desks, kitchen worktops, meeting rooms and hotel bedrooms. The unswitched design means the socket is always live when the circuit is energised, which is useful for appliances that should not be accidentally switched off. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W.
The white ABS construction gives a clean, bright finish that pairs with white or light-toned faceplates and interiors. The module requires a 35mm minimum back box depth and has a 28mm recessed depth once fitted. The socket is certified to BS 1363 and carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use. Installation involves clipping the module into the grid plate, then wiring the plate to the back box terminals.

Frequently Asked
What faceplate does this module fit?
The module fits any euro-module grid faceplate with 50 x 50mm apertures. Knightsbridge produces grid plates in 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang formats across multiple finishes. The faceplate is sold separately and must be purchased to complete the installation.
Why is the socket unswitched?
Unswitched sockets remain live whenever the circuit is energised, preventing accidental disconnection of appliances like fridges, servers or standby equipment. Switched socket modules are also available if local control is needed.
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed. The module itself has a 28mm recessed depth, so the faceplate and module assembly will sit within a standard 35mm UK grid back box.
Can this be used in bathrooms or outdoors?
No. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for indoor dry locations only. It is not rated for use in bathrooms (which require IP44 or higher) or outdoor installations.
