Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket provides a single 13A outlet behind a brushed chrome square-edge faceplate with a black insert. The double-pole switch isolates both live and neutral lines when switched off, providing additional safety for appliances like washing machines, tumble dryers and microwaves where full isolation is preferred.

Designed for residential and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and fixes to the wall with visible screws at each corner. The 89mm square footprint is consistent with UK standard single-gang dimensions, making it compatible with existing back boxes during refurbishment or renovation. The 13A rating handles loads up to 3,120W.

The brushed chrome finish is a directional grain finish on premium-grade steel that reflects light softly rather than creating mirror reflections, making it less prone to showing fingerprints than polished chrome. The black insert behind the faceplate provides contrast around the outlet aperture and switch rocker, and hides the back of the cover plate for a cleaner look once installed. The square edge design sits flush with the wall rather than using a rounded edge or raised trim.

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 10.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does DP switching mean?

DP stands for double-pole. The switch isolates both the live and neutral conductors when turned off, rather than just the live conductor as in single-pole switching. This provides complete circuit isolation and is recommended for high-draw appliances.

Is this screwless or screw-fixed?
