Description

1123 is a table lamp in gunmetal. Three plates stacked on a dark gunmetal stem: a flat disc on top, a wide flared plate beneath it, and a shallow white plate under that, with a short opal glass drum below them all. The two upper plates are the same dark gunmetal as the stem, so the white plate and the glass read as the only pale elements. The glass drum sits in a deeply knurled gunmetal collar that is the most worked part of the lamp. The stem is a plain round tube rising from a low round disc base. Light escapes in bright rings between the plates as well as out of the glass. It measures 18cm across.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The holder is G9. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
