Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 6-gang 2-way light switch provides six independent switching circuits behind an antique brass square-edge faceplate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10A on a 230V supply, handling lighting circuits up to 2,300W per switch. The 2-way configuration allows the same lighting circuit to be controlled from two locations in a room, making it suitable for large open-plan spaces or rooms with multiple entrances.

Designed for residential and commercial installation, the switch fits a standard 25mm UK back box with a minimum 16mm depth required for the switch mechanism itself. The screw-fixed faceplate uses visible slotted screws at each corner, giving a traditional appearance that contrasts with screwless ranges. The antique brass finish has a darker, aged patina that pairs with period and traditional interiors, classical kitchens, heritage properties, and warm-toned contemporary spaces.

The steel construction carries a 25-year warranty and an IP20 rating for indoor dry locations. The built-in gasket between the faceplate and back box reduces air gaps and dust ingress. What does 2-way switching mean?

A 2-way switch allows the same lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is common in large rooms, hallways, or staircases where you want to turn lights on or off from either end of the space.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 16mm back box depth is required for the switch mechanism. Standard UK single or double back boxes at 25mm depth are compatible. The faceplate adds 10.5mm projection from the wall once fitted.

Is this a screwless faceplate?
