Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way toggle switch controls four independent lighting circuits from two locations, mounted behind a pearl-finish stainless steel flat plate measuring 147.5mm x 87.5mm. The 2-way configuration allows each toggle to switch its circuit on or off from either this switch or a second switch elsewhere in the room, making it suitable for hallways, staircases and larger rooms with multiple entry points.
Designed for contemporary and modern interiors, the pearl finish provides a soft, neutral metallic tone that sits between polished chrome and brushed stainless, reducing reflections while maintaining a clean appearance. The flat plate construction uses a 2.5mm thick 201 stainless steel faceplate with a concealed gasket around the edge, giving an ultra-low 21.1mm total projection from the wall once fitted to a standard 16mm back box.
The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W per gang, covering most domestic and commercial lighting installations including LED, halogen and incandescent circuits. The toggles are centre-mounted within embossed apertures on the plate, with visible fixing screws at each end of the faceplate. The switch carries EN 60669-1 certification and a 25-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each lighting circuit to be controlled from two different switch locations. For example, you can turn a hallway light on at one end and off at the other, or control a staircase light from both floors. Each gang on this switch operates independently as a 2-way circuit.
What back box depth is required?
A standard 16mm back box is required. The switch has a total depth of 35.9mm from the front of the plate to the rear of the terminals, with a recessed depth of 14.8mm and a wall projection of 21.1mm once fitted.
How does the pearl finish compare to other stainless finishes?
Pearl sits between polished chrome and brushed stainless in tone. It has a soft, satin-like appearance with less reflection than polished chrome but more visual warmth than matt stainless or brushed finishes, making it suitable for neutral colour schemes.
Is this a screwless plate?
No. The flat plate design uses visible fixing screws at each end of the faceplate. For a screwless option, see the Knightsbridge screwless ranges which use a separate sub-frame and clip-on cover plate.
