Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch controls four separate lighting circuits from two locations, with each rocker rated at 10A (2,300W per circuit). The screwless polished chrome faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. Each rocker is also polished chrome, matching the plate rather than contrasting with a white or black insert.
Designed for hallways, stairwells, open-plan living spaces and commercial applications where multiple lighting zones need control from both ends of a room, the 2-way switching allows each circuit to be operated from two separate switch positions. The four gangs can control ceiling lights, wall lights, under-cabinet lighting and spotlights independently, giving flexible zoning without needing four separate switch plates.
The premium-grade steel construction gives the switch a solid 4.3mm projection from the wall and an IP20 indoor rating. The 16mm minimum back box depth requirement makes it compatible with shallow back boxes in dot-and-dab plasterboard installations where deeper boxes cannot be recessed. The polished chrome finish provides high reflectivity and pairs well with chrome door furniture, radiator valves and tap fittings in contemporary and minimalist interiors. Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the four lighting circuits to be controlled from two different switch locations, typically at either end of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase. Each gang operates independently as a 2-way switch.
What back box depth is needed?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is required. This shallow requirement makes the switch compatible with dot-and-dab plasterboard installations where deeper metal back boxes cannot be fully recessed into the wall cavity.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The polished chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is screwed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this 4-gang 2-way switch in several finishes including brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or category filters to find other variants currently in stock at Niori.
