Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 4-gang 2-way switch controls four independent lighting circuits from two locations, with each rocker rated at 10A (2,300W) on 230V mains. The matt white screwless faceplate and matching metal rockers sit 4.3mm proud of the wall, providing a low-profile finish that pairs with contemporary and minimalist interiors.

Designed for hallways, landings, open-plan living spaces and commercial installations where multiple lighting circuits need control from more than one point, the 2-way configuration allows any of the four gangs to be operated from a paired switch at the other end of the room or corridor. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings from view once installed.

The faceplate and rockers are constructed from premium-grade steel with a matt white powder-coat finish that resists fingerprints and marks better than gloss white alternatives. A built-in gasket between the faceplate and back box provides additional protection against dust ingress. The switch is rated IP20 for indoor use, carries Class I earthing, and is certified to EN 60669-1. Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year warranty.

What does 2-way switching mean?

2-way switching allows any of the four lighting circuits to be controlled from two different switch locations. This requires a second 4-gang 2-way switch at the other control point, with the two switches wired together using 3-core-and-earth cable.

What back box depth is required?

A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making this one of the slimmest metal switch profiles available.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The matt white cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
