Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way switch provides independent control of three lighting circuits from two locations, housed behind a gunmetal flat plate with matching metal rockers. The 10AX rating handles up to 2,300W per gang on resistive loads, making it suitable for multi-lamp circuits, chandeliers and high-wattage halogen downlights.
Designed for residential and commercial installations requiring multi-zone lighting control, the 3-gang 2-way configuration allows each circuit to be switched from two points — typically at opposite ends of a hallway, on either side of a bedroom, or at the top and bottom of a staircase. The ultra-flat plate sits just 2.5mm proud of the wall once fitted, giving a streamlined profile that works in contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors.
The gunmetal finish is a dark grey metallic tone with a subtle sheen, sitting between graphite and charcoal. The plate is pressed from premium-grade steel and includes an integrated gasket behind the faceplate to protect against dust ingress. The switch requires a minimum 16mm back box depth and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use. Certified to EN 60669-1 for UK residential and commercial wiring standards.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each of the three lighting circuits to be controlled from two separate switch locations. Common applications include hallways (switch at each end), bedrooms (switch at the door and bedside), or staircases (switch at top and bottom).
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed. The flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making it one of the slimmest switch profiles available.
What load can each gang handle?
Each gang is rated at 10AX, which handles up to 2,300W on resistive loads such as incandescent bulbs or halogen downlights. For LED or CFL loads, refer to the lamp manufacturer's switching compatibility — some low-wattage LEDs may require special dimmer switches rather than standard switching.
Is the gunmetal finish susceptible to fingerprints?
The gunmetal finish has a low-sheen metallic surface that shows fingerprints less readily than polished chrome or mirror finishes, but more than matt black. Wipe clean with a dry microfibre cloth as needed.
