The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch features two rocker switches on a polished chrome flat plate with matching metal rockers. The 2-way wiring allows each circuit to be controlled from two locations, making it suitable for hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points. The 10AX rating handles lighting circuits up to 2,300W per gang at 230V.

Designed for contemporary residential and commercial installations, the switch presents an 87.5mm square faceplate with an ultra-low 2.5mm projection from the wall. The flat plate design sits nearly flush with the plasterwork, creating a minimal surface profile that suits modern interiors where traditional raised plates would add visual weight. The built-in gasket seals the faceplate against the wall, protecting internal terminals from airborne dust and light moisture.

The polished chrome finish provides a highly reflective surface that catches and returns light, making the switch visibly present in contemporary, industrial and Art Deco-inspired interiors. What does 2-way switching mean?

2-way wiring allows the same light circuit to be controlled from two different switch locations. This is standard for hallways and staircases where you need to turn lights on at one end and off at the other. Each gang on this switch supports independent 2-way operation.

What back box depth is required?

The switch requires a minimum 16mm back box depth. The ultra-low 2.5mm faceplate projection makes this one of the shallowest switches in the Knightsbridge range, suitable for installations where standard 25mm boxes cannot be fitted.

What load can it handle per gang?

Each gang is rated 10AX at 230V, which equates to 2,300W per circuit. This comfortably handles typical domestic lighting loads including multiple LED downlights or larger incandescent and halogen circuits.

Can the polished chrome be cleaned without scratching?

Polished chrome is durable but shows fingerprints and watermarks easily. Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth dampened with water or a mild pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive cloths, scouring pads or chemical polishes which can scratch the reflective surface.
