Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch allows two separate lighting circuits to be controlled from two different locations, behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with matching brushed chrome rockers. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W per gang on 230V mains, making it suitable for controlling multiple ceiling lights, wall lights or downlight circuits from dual-entry positions.
Designed for hallways, landings, staircases and large rooms where lights need switching from both ends, the 2-way configuration pairs with an identical switch at the second location to provide on/off control from either position. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings behind the brushed chrome surface for a cleaner finish than screw-fixed plates. The 16mm minimum mounting box depth makes it compatible with shallow back boxes in partition walls and stud frames.
The brushed chrome finish is applied to premium-grade steel and shows directional brushing that softens reflections under both natural and artificial light. The built-in gasket around the edge of the plate provides IP20 protection and reduces dust ingress behind the faceplate. The rockers are metal-faced to match the plate finish, giving a consistent metallic surface across the entire switch rather than the plastic rockers found on cheaper alternatives.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way mean in a light switch?
A 2-way switch allows a single lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate locations, typically used in hallways and staircases where you need to switch lights on at one end and off at the other. You install an identical 2-way switch at both positions, wired with three-core cable between them.
What back box depth is required?
The minimum mounting box depth is 16mm. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with the recessed components sitting 13.2mm behind the plate.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this switch style in polished chrome, matt black, white, antique brass, polished brass and other metal finishes. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
