The Knightsbridge 1-gang grid faceplate is a polished chrome cover plate designed to house a single grid module in the Knightsbridge grid wiring system. The plate measures 85.75mm square with rounded edges that soften the profile against the wall, and is manufactured from premium-grade steel with a high-gloss polished chrome finish that matches Knightsbridge's rounded polished chrome switch and socket range.

Grid faceplates work with the Knightsbridge modular grid system, which allows individual switches, sockets, data outlets and other modules to be clipped into a metal grid frame behind the faceplate. This 1-gang plate accepts one grid module — typically a single light switch, dimmer, data outlet or blank. The grid system is commonly used in commercial fit-outs, hospitality projects and residential installations where exact control layout needs to be configured on-site rather than buying pre-configured multi-gang switches.

The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-like surface that reflects light and pairs well with modern, contemporary and minimalist interiors. The 7.5mm projection from the wall once installed gives the plate a low-profile appearance. The rounded edges reduce the visual sharpness of the plate against paintwork and provide a tactile softness compared to square-edge alternatives. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor environments — not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or outdoor locations.

What is a grid faceplate used for?

Grid faceplates are part of Knightsbridge's modular grid wiring system. They house individual grid modules (switches, dimmers, data outlets, blanks) that clip into a metal grid frame behind the plate. This 1-gang plate holds one module. The grid system allows custom control layouts to be configured on-site rather than using pre-configured multi-gang switches.

What grid modules fit this faceplate?

Any single-module Knightsbridge grid component: light switches, dimmers, data outlets, TV/satellite outlets, or blank modules. The module clips into the metal grid frame, then the faceplate clips over the front. See Knightsbridge's grid module range for compatible components.

Is this faceplate screwless?

No. Grid faceplates use visible fixing screws (two screws, one top and one bottom) to secure the plate to the grid frame. Screwless variants are not available in the grid system.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts this faceplate to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones, shower rooms or outdoor use where moisture or splashing may occur.
