The Knightsbridge 1-gang grid faceplate is an 89mm square brushed chrome plate designed to hold a single modular grid insert from Knightsbridge's grid switch system. The faceplate itself carries no electrical components — it acts as the visible frame for separate grid modules (switches, sockets, dimmers, data outlets) that clip into position behind it.

Designed for use in modular lighting control systems, audio-visual installations and residential rooms where multiple switch functions need to be grouped into a single wall aperture, the faceplate fits a standard UK 25mm single-gang back box. The grid system allows installers to configure the exact combination of switches, dimmers and accessories needed without committing to a fixed plate layout at the point of purchase.

The premium-grade steel construction with a brushed chrome finish provides a mid-sheen surface that pairs with Knightsbridge's Square Edge brushed chrome socket and switch range. The 10.5mm projection from the wall gives a low-profile finish once the grid modules are clipped in. What grid modules fit this faceplate?

This 1-gang plate accepts a single Knightsbridge grid module of any type (1-module width). Knightsbridge produces grid switches, dimmer modules, socket modules, blank plates, USB modules and data outlet modules in matching finishes. Grid modules are sold separately.

What back box is required?

A standard UK 25mm single-gang back box is required. The faceplate screws to the back box lugs, and the grid module clips into the faceplate aperture. The 10.5mm projection is measured from the wall surface once installed.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means this faceplate is suitable for general interior use only, not for bathroom zones or outdoor locations. For wet or damp environments, use Knightsbridge's IP-rated grid plates instead.
