Description

This Knightsbridge 1-gang dimmer plate provides the mounting surface and matching dimmer cap for a single rotary dimmer module. The 86mm square white plate is moulded from thermoset resin with a 9mm projection from the wall and finished with an anti-microbial coating tested to ISO 22196:2011, which reduces bacterial growth on the surface over time.

Designed for use with Knightsbridge dimmer modules (sold separately), the plate accepts a single dimmer mechanism and covers the back box aperture with a clean square-edge finish. The matching white dimmer cap fits onto the dimmer module shaft, giving a unified finish across the plate and control. This configuration suits residential, commercial and hospitality installations where dimming control is needed for incandescent, halogen or dimmable LED lighting circuits.

The thermoset resin construction provides impact resistance and dimensional stability under heat, making the plate suitable for locations with frequent use. The white finish is pigmented through the material rather than surface-coated, so scratches and wear are less visible over time. Screw cap covers included with the plate conceal the fixing screws once the plate is installed, maintaining the square-edge aesthetic. Knightsbridge backs this plate with a 25-year warranty.

Does this plate include the dimmer module?

No. This is the faceplate and matching dimmer cap only. The dimmer module (the actual switching mechanism) is sold separately and must be purchased to complete the installation. Search for compatible Knightsbridge dimmer modules on the Niori site.

What dimmer modules are compatible?

This plate accepts any standard Knightsbridge 1-gang dimmer module designed for the Square Edge range. Check the dimmer module product page to confirm compatibility with your lamp load type (trailing edge for LED, leading edge for incandescent/halogen).

What does the anti-microbial coating do?

The anti-microbial coating reduces bacterial growth on the plate surface. It has been tested to ISO 22196:2011, which measures the ability of a treated surface to inhibit bacterial reproduction over time. Can the plate be painted?
