Zowie Large Glass Pendant Light - Antique Brass

The Zowie pendant is the same wide ribbed glass dish, here 12.9cm deep and 40cm across, hung on a long cord instead of a stem. The ribs run out from the centre to the rim in close narrow lines and the rim turns down at the edge. A brass lampholder sits above the glass with the bulb below it, and a rust coloured braided cord runs up 2m to a brass ceiling rose 10cm across.

A shallow dish 40cm wide on a 2m cord can be hung high as a room light or dropped low over a table, and the two read differently. High, the ribs throw light out sideways and across the ceiling; low, the dish caps the bulb and puts a wide circle on the table with the glass at eye level. The shade comes off the fitting. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, it is dimmable, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. An electrician is needed to fit it.

The shade is recycled glass, pressed with its ribs, so the thickness and the small marks in it vary from one to the next. The lampholder and ceiling rose are brass. The cord can be shortened by a qualified electrician. The Zowie range also holds the same dish as a close ceiling fitting on a short rigid stem. Bulbs are not included.

How long is the cord?

2m of rust coloured braided cord, from a brass ceiling rose 10cm across. A qualified electrician can shorten it.

Can the shade be taken off?

Yes. The shade comes off the fitting.

How is it different from the Zowie ceiling light?

The same ribbed glass dish, 40cm across on both. That one is fixed on a short rigid stem 20.7cm below the ceiling; this one hangs on a 2m cord.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulb cool, then wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion, following the ribs. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off it.
