Description

The Ziva cluster in light smoke brown is three glass teardrops on one round brass ceiling plate, each on its own black fabric flex at a different length. Every shade is blown wide at the base and drawn in to a narrow neck with a brass collar, and the surface is hammered with traditional tools, so the glass is faceted and catches the light along the ridges. The colour goes on after the glass has cooled, a warm smoke brown that reads amber once a bulb is behind it. Each shade measures 20cm tall and 18cm across, and the flexes come at 80cm, 100cm and 120cm.

Three shades is the smaller of the two Ziva clusters and the one for an ordinary ceiling: the longest flex here drops 120cm where the six shade version runs to 165cm. Over a dining table it hangs as a group without filling the room, and in a hallway it gives three warm points instead of one flat wash. It takes three E14 bulbs up to 40W each, it is dimmable, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The glass is recycled: the waste glass is washed, crushed and melted before being mouth blown to shape, then hammered for an irregular surface, so no two shades on one fitting are the same. The Ziva range runs to six cluster pendants in clear, green smoke and light smoke brown, in this three shade size and in a six light one. Bulbs are not included.

Frequently Asked

How many ceiling points does it need?

One. All three flexes run into a single round brass ceiling plate.

How is it different from the six light version?

Three shades instead of six, and the longest flex drops 120cm where the six light runs to 165cm. The shades themselves are the same.

Why is the glass surface uneven?

Each shade is mouth blown and then hammered with traditional tools, which leaves the glass faceted. No two take the hammering the same way.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool, then wipe each shade with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the glass, and do not wash it in hot soapy water.
