Description

The Zero Ellipse is a pendant light made as one slim oval ring, 130cm long and 59cm wide, with a band just 3cm tall in a Brushed Champagne finish. Its light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and a white diffuser lines the inner edge of the ring. It draws 47W and gives 4079lm, with a CRI of 90, so colours look natural beneath it. It comes in 2700K or 3000K: the 2700K version gives a warmer glow, and the 3000K version a slightly crisper white.

We think it belongs over a dining table or in a living room, where its long oval follows the line of a table or a seating area. It hangs on fine suspension wires with a maximum drop of 500cm, so it can sit well down from a high ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The pendant comes without its canopy, and it cannot be fitted without one: you need a Zero Round ceiling canopy, sold separately, which serves the Zero Ellipse too: a single canopy or one for 2, 3 or 4 pendants, with a built-in 60W driver for each pendant that feeds it at 24V DC and dims by DALI or push.

The Brushed Champagne finish has a soft satin sheen that sits warmly against wood, stone and pale walls, and the 3cm band keeps the ring light to the eye even in a large room. It is a Class III fitting that runs on mains power, wired in by an electrician through its canopy's built-in 24V DC driver, and it is for a qualified electrician to install. One practical note: the colour temperature comes with the version you choose, so pick 2700K or 3000K with the room in mind, warmer for evening dining, crisper for a brighter living space.
