Description

The Zero Ellipse is a pendant light in the shape of a long, slim ellipse: a single white ring of integrated LED light, 130cm long and 59cm wide, with a band just 3cm high. The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 47W and gives 4079 lumens with a CRI of 90, so food, faces and fabrics look true to colour. It comes in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K, the warmer and the whiter. It hangs on a drop of up to 500cm, for tall ceilings too.

We think it belongs in a dining room or a living room. Hung lengthways over a long dining table, the ellipse follows the line of the table; in a living room it brings a wide, even glow over a seating area. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. It comes without its canopy: it needs a Zero Round ceiling canopy, sold separately, which fixes to the ceiling and holds the driver that powers the pendant. Choose the single canopy or one for 2, 3 or 4 pendants, each with a built-in 60W driver per pendant, feeding it at 24V DC. The canopies are DALI or push dimmable, for a push switch or a DALI system.

The pendant runs at 24V DC and is a Class III fitting; it is wired in to the mains by an electrician, through its canopy's built-in 24V DC driver, and the whole fitting is for a qualified electrician to install. The white finish keeps the ring quiet against a pale ceiling, and the slim band reads as a fine line of light rather than a heavy fixture. When you order, choose 2700K or 3000K to suit the room, and pick the canopy for the number of pendants you plan to hang.
