Description

An outdoor coffee table 101cm long, 50cm deep and 41cm high, with a slatted acacia top on a folding iron frame. The boards of the top are laid flat with a narrow gap between each one, so nothing stands on the surface after rain. The frame crosses under the top in two X sections, in iron under a rustic bronze finish that reads aged rather than new, and it folds down when the legs are brought together.

A metre by half a metre is long enough for a tray of glasses and a bowl at the same time and narrow enough to sit in front of a two seat bench without closing off the way past it. At 41cm it is low against garden seating, which is where a coffee table wants to be. Because it folds it goes into a shed or a garage out of season rather than standing out all winter.

The top is acacia and the frame is iron. Acacia is a dense hardwood with a high oil content, which is what makes it a timber for outdoors, and the colour within a single board runs from light amber through to a dark mahogany and deepens as it ages. The Yatin range also runs to a side table, a chair and a bench.

Frequently Asked

Does it fold?

Yes. The X frame folds down when the legs are brought together.

How big is it?

101cm long, 50cm deep and 41cm high.

Can it be left outside?

It is made for outdoor use. Storing it somewhere dry over the winter months will prolong its life.

What is the frame finished in?

A rustic bronze, left to read aged.

What else is in the range?

A side table, a chair and a bench.

How do I look after the wood?

Wash it once a year with warm water to lift algae and pollution off the timber, using nothing abrasive or corrosive on it, and give it a natural water resistant oil or wax each season. Acacia can crack along the grain once it has been out in the weather, and the shading, grain and knots vary from board to board; neither is a fault. Take any deep scratch or staining to a professional.
