Description
The Yasha cabinet stands 187cm tall on four square legs, with a case 90cm wide and only 41cm deep and two doors running its full height. Each door holds a recessed panel of close vertical reeding that stops short under a shallow arched edge, and the doors meet at a pair of square block handles set near the middle of their height. The mango wood is finished in a walnut wash, so the outside reads a warm mid brown while the inside is left several tones paler.
Inside, three fixed shelves divide the case into four compartments, deep enough for bed linen, bath sheets and folded clothing. At 187cm this is a full height piece, but 41cm is shallow for storage of that size, so it takes far less floor than a wardrobe and will stand in a small bedroom, on a landing, or in a corner that has nothing else to do. The legs lift the case off the ground, which keeps it from reading as a solid block against the wall behind it.
The cabinet is solid mango wood carrying its own patina beneath the wash. The reeding is cut into each door panel rather than applied over it, and the handles are square blocks of the same wood. Each door hangs on three dark iron hinges and closes onto a small iron catch at the top and the bottom of the case. Yasha also runs to a sideboard.

Frequently Asked
How many shelves are there?
Three, dividing the inside into four compartments.
Can the shelves be moved?
No. All three are fixed, and there are no pin holes or runners in the sides to reset them on.
Is there glass in the doors?
No. Both doors are solid mango wood with a reeded panel set into them.
How much room does it need?
187cm of height and 90cm of wall, and 41cm of floor front to back.
How do I look after it?
An edible oil such as olive or walnut, worked in with a cloth, feeds and protects the wood, though it will darken the tone. Blot spills at once with a dry cloth, keep chemical cleaners away from it, and expect the colour to shift over the years.
