Description

A set of four small wine glasses in recycled glass, each 12cm tall and 7.5cm across, holding 190ml. The bowl is a rounded goblet that tapers in towards the foot, hammered over most of its height with shallow dimples and left smooth in a band at the rim. Below it sits a short stem with a small knop, and a broad round foot. The glass is clear, with a faint green cast where it thickens in the foot.

At 190ml these hold a measured glass rather than a large pour, and at 12cm they stand low enough on a table to see across. Four come in a set, which lays a table for four. The dimpling breaks the light up across each bowl rather than letting it pass straight through.

The glass is recycled, and each one is blown or pressed into a mould by hand, so the thickness of the wall and the run of the dimples vary from glass to glass and no two in a set are identical. The Yala range makes the same wine glass in dusty terracotta and in sage green.

Frequently Asked

Is recycled glass dishwasher safe?

These ones are. They go in the dishwasher.

How much does each glass hold?

190ml.

How many come in a set?

Four.

How is the recycled glass made?

Waste glass is collected and washed to take out impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown or pressed into a mould.

Will the four match?

Not exactly. The hammering and the thickness of the wall vary, so the four in a set differ a little from each other.

How do I look after them?

Wash them after every use so they do not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak. Handle them with care.
