Description

A set of four highball tumblers in recycled glass, each 14cm tall and 7.5cm across, with sides that run straight from a flat base to a plain rim. The glass is hammered with traditional tools after it is blown, so the wall carries a shallow dimpled pattern that runs at a different angle on every glass and catches the light unevenly. There is a faint green cast to the glass.

At 14cm these are the long glasses of the range rather than the short tumblers, sized for long drinks and for cocktails served over ice. The sides do not taper, so a full glass sits steady on a tray. They are dishwasher safe and food safe.

The glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected and washed to take out impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is mouth blown and hammered by hand, which is where the irregular surface comes from. No two glasses carry the same pattern of dimples. The Yala range also runs to tumblers, wine glasses, champagne glasses and a carafe in the same hammered glass.

Frequently Asked

How many come in a set?

Four.

How big are they?

14cm tall and 7.5cm across.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes, and food safe. Wash them after every use to stop staining, with a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak.

What is the glass?

Recycled glass, mouth blown and then hammered by hand.

Will the four match?

Not exactly. The hammering is done by hand, so the pattern of dimples differs from glass to glass.
