Yala Hammered Coupe Champagne Glasses - Clear - Set of 4

Four champagne coupes in recycled glass, each 13.5cm tall and 10cm across the bowl and holding 175ml. The bowl is wide and shallow with a softly rounded base, set on a short plain stem and a round foot. A hammered texture is worked into the glass with hand tools, breaking the surface into shallow facets, and the glass runs green where it thickens at the stem and the foot.

The coupes are made for champagne and for cocktails, and the wide mouth takes a short drink as readily as it does fizz. At 13.5cm they are low glasses that sit under the eye line across a table rather than above it, which keeps a laid table open. The hammering catches the light in small points down every bowl.

The glass is recycled. Waste glass is washed and crushed, then melted down and blown by hand before the hammering is worked in, so the facets fall differently on every coupe and the green varies from one to the next. Four come in a set. The coupes are also made in dusty terracotta and in sage green, and the wider Yala range runs to tumblers, highballs, wine glasses, gin glasses, jugs and a carafe.

How many coupes are in a set?

Four.

How much does each one hold?

175ml.

Is the glass recycled?

Yes. Waste glass is collected and washed, then crushed and melted down before it is blown.

Will every coupe look the same?

Not exactly. The hammering is worked in by hand and the green in the glass varies, so no two coupes are alike.

How do I look after them?

Wash them after every use so they do not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak. Handle them with care.
