Description
A set of four champagne flutes in a dusty terracotta glass, each 19cm tall and 5cm across. The bowl is a long taper that narrows into a short, sturdy stem and opens again into a wide flat foot. The whole surface is hammered, dimpled in an irregular pattern that takes the light differently on every glass, and the colour deepens towards the foot where the glass runs thicker.
Each glass holds 200ml. The stem is shorter and heavier than a conventional flute, and the foot is wide and flat. Four is a table setting rather than a pair, and with the light behind them the hammering reads as a field of small bright points.
The glass is recycled and mouth blown, and the hammered surface is worked in afterwards with traditional tools, so the pattern of dimples is irregular and different on every glass. The colour is embedded in the glass rather than sprayed on the surface, which is what keeps it food safe. The Yala range runs to tumblers, highballs, wine glasses, gin glasses, a jug and a carafe, and this dusty terracotta is one of several colours made across it.

Frequently Asked
How many glasses come in a set?
Four.
How much do they hold?
200ml each. They stand 19cm tall and 5cm across.
Are they dishwasher safe?
Yes, and they are food safe. The colour is embedded in the glass rather than sprayed onto the surface.
Is the glass recycled?
Yes. The waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is mouth blown and hammered.
Will the four match?
Not exactly. The hammering is worked by hand, so the pattern of dimples is different on every glass.
How should they be looked after?
Wash them after every use to prevent staining, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak. Handle them with care.
