Description
The Knightsbridge DC012 is a wireless doorbell kit comprising an IP55-rated black bell push and a mains-powered plug-in receiver with 58 selectable ringtones and volume control up to 110dB. The bell push mounts on a door frame or wall using screws or double-sided adhesive pads and transmits on 433MHz to the receiver, which plugs directly into a standard UK 230V socket inside the property. The system requires no wiring between the push and the receiver, making installation a case of mounting the push and plugging in the receiver.
Designed for residential front doors, back doors, gates and outbuildings where running cable is impractical or unwanted, the DC012 operates on a learning code system that pairs the push to the receiver during setup, preventing interference from neighbouring wireless doorbells or transmitters. The bell push is powered by a single 12V 23A battery (included) rated for low power consumption under 10mW per press, while the receiver draws less than 0.3W on standby. The advertised 150-200m operating range is dependent on building construction, wall materials and electromagnetic interference, but typical domestic installations with brick or timber-frame walls achieve reliable transmission across 20-30m.
The receiver includes a visual LED alert that flashes when the doorbell is pressed, providing notification in noisy environments or for hearing-impaired users. The black bell push carries an IP55 rating, meaning it resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as recessed porches or covered doorways. The unit includes a clear door number sleeve on the push for personalisation. Additional bell pushes or plug-in receivers can be added to the system and paired using the learning code function, allowing multiple entry points or multiple alert positions throughout a property.

Frequently Asked
What is the operating range?
Knightsbridge advertises a range of 150-200m in open air. In typical residential installations with brick or timber-frame walls, expect reliable transmission across 20-30m. Thicker walls, metal structures and electromagnetic interference from Wi-Fi routers or microwaves reduce range.
Can I add more receivers or bell pushes?
Yes. Additional Knightsbridge plug-in receivers or bell pushes can be paired to the system using the learning code function. This allows multiple entry points (front door, back door, gate) or multiple alert positions (kitchen, bedroom, workshop) on the same system.
How is the bell push powered?
The bell push is battery-powered and requires one 12V 23A battery, which is included. Power consumption is rated at less than 10mW per press. Battery life depends on usage frequency but typically exceeds 12 months under normal residential use.
Is the bell push weatherproof?
The bell push carries an IP55 rating, meaning it resists dust and low-pressure water jets. It is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as recessed porches or covered doorways, but should not be exposed to direct heavy rain or submersion.
