Description

The Knightsbridge wireless bell push is an IP55-rated outdoor doorbell trigger housed in white polycarbonate with a grey push button. The unit transmits a wireless signal up to 150-200m under open-air conditions, pairing with compatible Knightsbridge wireless chimes and receivers sold separately. A transparent window above the button accepts a paper door number insert, allowing the bell push to double as address signage.

Designed for external door mounting on homes, flats, offices and gated entrances, the bell push operates on a single 12V 23A battery (not included) with power consumption under 10mW, giving typical battery life of 12-18 months under normal use. The IP55 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making the unit suitable for exposed porch and gate installations without additional weather shields.

The unit can be screw-mounted directly to masonry, timber or uPVC door frames using the two fixing points on the rear, or attached via double-sided adhesive pads (supplied) for no-drill installation on smooth surfaces. The polycarbonate construction resists UV degradation and impact, maintaining clarity and colour stability in direct sun. At 88mm tall and 34mm wide with a 23mm projection from the wall, the bell push sits comfortably on narrow door frames and gate posts without obstructing door swing.

What battery does it take and how long does it last?

The bell push requires one 12V 23A battery, not included. Under typical residential use (10-20 presses per day), battery life is approximately 12-18 months. Power consumption is under 10mW per press.

What is the transmission range?

Knightsbridge quotes 150-200m range under open-air line-of-sight conditions. In real installations, range is reduced by walls, metal doors and interference from other wireless devices. Typical indoor range through standard brick walls is 30-50m.

Can it be mounted without drilling?

Yes. Double-sided adhesive pads are supplied for no-drill installation on smooth, clean surfaces such as uPVC door frames, painted wood and sealed masonry. For long-term reliability on rough or porous surfaces, screw mounting is recommended.

Is it weatherproof?

The IP55 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for covered porches, recessed doorways and gate posts. It will withstand rain and splashes but is not designed for full submersion or high-pressure washing.
