Description

The Whiteberry is a ceiling light built from two ribbed glass shades stacked one above the other: a wide, flattened shade at the top and a smaller, rounded one beneath it, joined by a waisted gold collar. The shades are white blown glass on an iron structure in a gold finish. It is 41.5cm tall and 30cm across, with a 12cm canopy. The light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or change. It draws 10W and gives 600 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, spread all round through a 360° beam, and a colour rendering index of 90 or more keeps colours true beneath it.

It fixes flush to the ceiling with no stem or flex, and suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and landings. The warm 3000K light glowing through ribbed glass makes it a calm choice for a bedroom or a quiet sitting room, and the true colour rendering is welcome over a dining table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It works from an ordinary on-off wall switch and is not dimmable, so it does not belong on a dimmer circuit.

The gold finish runs across all the metalwork: the canopy ring, the waisted collar and the ring at the base. The two shades are blown glass, their fine vertical ribs giving the light a gentle, even texture when it is on and a crisp, tailored look when it is off. It runs on 220-240V mains, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 5 year guarantee.
