Description
The Wellesley is a five-globe pendant light with hand-blown crackle glass spheres suspended on curved antique brass arms from a central vertical stem. Each globe houses an E14 bulb (sold separately) behind clear glass with a subtle crackle texture formed during the hand-blowing process, causing internal fracture lines that catch and diffuse light. The five globes hang at staggered heights along the stem, creating a cascading visual effect when viewed from the side.
Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.6m and 3.5m, the Wellesley offers an adjustable drop ranging from 182cm minimum to 271cm maximum. The pendant is typically installed 700-800mm above a dining surface or low enough over an island to provide direct light without blocking sightlines. In double-height hallways or above staircases the full 271cm drop allows the cascading globes to occupy vertical space without overwhelming the horizontal plane.
The antique brass finish on the iron frame shows a muted, slightly darkened patina compared to polished or brushed brass, giving the fitting a lived-in character that pairs well with both traditional interiors and warmer-toned contemporary schemes. Each crackle glass globe measures approximately 12cm diameter and the fitting carries a total weight of 4.15kg once assembled, requiring a ceiling fixing capable of supporting that load. The 32cm width at the widest point of the arms keeps the footprint compact enough for tables 1.2-1.8m wide.
The Wellesley collection includes a matching five-globe floor lamp and three-globe table lamp, allowing coordinated lighting across a room. All fittings in the range share the same hand-blown crackle glass and antique brass detailing.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Wellesley requires 5 x E14 small Edison screw bulbs with a maximum wattage of 7W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED bulbs around 2700K-3000K to complement the antique brass finish.
What ceiling height is needed?
The adjustable drop ranges from 182cm to 271cm. For installation above a dining table or kitchen island, ceiling heights between 2.6m and 3.5m work best. Lower ceilings require shortening the drop during fitting, while higher ceilings such as double-height hallways can use the full 271cm extension.
Is the crackle glass the same on each globe?
No. Each globe is hand-blown, so the pattern of internal crackle lines and small decorative bubbles differs between individual pieces. This variation is a feature of the hand-blown process, not a defect.
Does it need professional installation?
Yes. The fitting weighs 4.15kg and requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting that load, plus correct wiring to UK mains. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with Part P Building Regulations.
