Description
Our Vivien trivet is cut from solid marble and shaped into a soft, wavy loop, with three gentle curves along each side and an open centre running down its length. It is 38cm long, 12cm wide and 2.5cm tall, a long, slim shape that suits the narrow run of space along a worktop or down the middle of a table. At 1.48KG it has real weight to it, so it feels substantial in the hand and sits steadily once it is down. The stone is white with soft veining drifting through it, and because marble is a natural stone, no two pieces carry quite the same markings.
A trivet is a stand that keeps hot cookware off the surface beneath it, and this one belongs in the kitchen, on the worktop beside the hob or in the middle of the dining table. Its slim length lines up neatly along a kitchen island or a table runner without crowding the space around it. When it is not in use it still earns its place: lay it flat on a sideboard, a console table or an open shelf as a sculptural piece, or stand a small vase or a potted plant on it. It suits anyone who likes natural materials and soft, organic shapes in a kitchen that is used every day.
The marble has a polished finish, which brings out the veining and leaves the stone smooth to the touch. It is carved as one continuous loop, with no joins and no added feet. Marble is a dense, cool stone, and that coolness is part of its appeal in a busy kitchen. For a calm, layered look, put it alongside wooden boards and stoneware in earthy tones; the white stone sits easily against warm oak or a pale grey worktop.

Frequently Asked
What is the Vivien trivet made of?
It is made of 100% marble with a polished finish, carved as one continuous wavy loop of natural stone.
How big is the marble trivet?
It is 38cm long, 12cm wide and 2.5cm tall, a long, slim shape that lines up well along a worktop or down a table.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 1.48KG, so it feels substantial in the hand and sits steadily on a worktop, table or shelf.
Will my trivet have exactly the same veining as the photographs?
Not exactly. Marble is a natural stone, so the veining through the white marble differs from piece to piece and yours will carry its own markings.
Can I use it as a decorative piece too?
Yes. Laid flat on a sideboard, console table or open shelf, its wavy loop works as a sculptural piece, or as a stand for a small vase or potted plant.
