Description

The Vivan is a cake stand and dome, 44.5cm high to the top of the dome and 35.5cm wide. The base is mango wood, hand-carved with the grooved Vivan pattern that runs through the rest of the range, and the dome that sits over it is clear hand-blown glass. The two together weigh 4.4kg.

At 35.5cm wide this takes the middle of a table rather than a corner of a worktop, and it stands 44.5cm high to the top of the dome. It is food safe, and it takes cakes and pastries or a selection of cheeses. The dome lifts off the stand, so the cake can be served straight from the wooden plate.

The base is mango wood and the dome is glass, blown by hand. The carving is the grooved Vivan pattern, which the range also carries on mirrors, side tables, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and a bed. Because both parts are made by hand, the grooves and the glass differ a little from one stand to the next.

How do I look after it?

Hand wash the glass dome gently with a mild dish soap and rinse it in clean water. To feed it, rub in an edible oil such as olive or walnut with a dry cloth, which will darken the tone.
